Overview

Lead the operational decisions that keep bank payments moving while controlling return losses. This role brings together alert queues, case investigation, representment and the handover of overdue accounts to collections. The emphasis is on consistent decisions that can be explained to banking partners and supported by clear case evidence.

Requirements

  • The experience profile includes at least eight years in payments, banking or lending risk operations and three years managing teams, with strong ACH or EFT knowledge.
  • Queue management, bank reporting and clear written procedures are central skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include setting analyst workloads, monitoring case age and accuracy, maintaining investigation procedures, and checking that return performance stays within applicable network thresholds and internal limits.
  • When performance deteriorates, develop a practical remediation plan and assemble the evidence behind it.
  • Track contested returns and recovered funds through to the loss records so that operational outcomes remain visible.
  • Work with risk and fraud analytics colleagues to surface patterns across individual cases.
  • Provide feedback when rules create poor alerts, improve workflow tooling, and maintain controls testing, issue tracking and documentation for audit review.
  • Complex cases and active fraud incidents require sound escalation judgment.

Conditions

  • The position follows a hybrid arrangement in San Francisco or New York, with office attendance Tuesday through Thursday.
