Overview

Commercial payments role focused on managing a full-cycle European payment sales pipeline across merchants, PSPs, gateways and acquiring partners. The successful candidate will own a measurable business-development pipeline in Portugal / Europe, qualify opportunities properly, coordinate internal payment and onboarding teams, and move viable deals from first conversation to launch.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in payments, fintech, PSP, acquiring, payment gateways or closely related B2B financial technology; senior scope.
  • Practical understanding of online payment flows, merchant acquiring, pay-ins/payouts, alternative payment methods and commercial onboarding.
  • Evidence of independently building or managing a B2B pipeline and progressing opportunities through a full commercial cycle.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-management and written follow-up skills.
  • Language requirement: English.
  • Market familiarity or professional network relevant to Portugal / Europe is strongly preferred.
  • Education: no specific formal degree is required; relevant commercial and payments experience is the priority.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a qualified new-business pipeline across Portugal / Europe.
  • Identify merchants, payment partners, PSPs, acquirers, gateways or other relevant counterparties and open direct commercial conversations.
  • Run structured discovery covering business model, target GEOs, currencies, payment methods, expected volumes, current setup and integration needs.
  • Present suitable payment solutions clearly and manage proposals, commercial negotiations and follow-up through agreement.
  • Coordinate with onboarding, risk, compliance, product, operations and technical teams so qualified opportunities are handed over cleanly.
  • Maintain accurate CRM stages, commercial notes, next actions and forecasts, and contribute market intelligence from partner conversations.
