Overview
Provide legal advice as payment products move from early ideas into live services, with particular attention to digital assets, stablecoins and artificial-intelligence features. The role sits close to product development, helping teams understand legal uncertainty and turn it into practical decisions and safeguards.
Requirements
- The experience profile requires a UK- or EU-qualified lawyer with at least eight years in financial services, payments or technology, combining regulatory, privacy and commercial work.
- Direct exposure to payment products, digital assets and AI is expected, together with knowledge of UK and EU regulation and data-protection requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review partner and commercial agreements, draft product terms and disclosures, and advise on new payment methods and market expansion.
- Assess questions involving payment-services classification, custody, cross-border transfers and data protection.
- Work with technical colleagues to understand how features operate before recommending a legal approach.
- AI-related responsibilities include governance, liability, data use and contracts for third-party tools.
- Monitor emerging legal developments, coordinate external advice when necessary, and make the implications clear to product, risk and compliance teams.
- The remit also includes improving legal processes and handling associated intellectual-property, corporate or dispute questions as they arise.
Conditions
- The role is hybrid in London, with three office days per week.
