Senior Developer Experience Engineer, Payments Infrastructure — Remote (Worldwide)

Overview

Improve the systems that engineers use to build, test and operate a payments platform. This senior infrastructure role owns the internal developer experience, from deployment workflows to self-service environments. A particular area of responsibility is making collaboration with coding agents practical, measurable and safe within the software delivery process.

Requirements

• Candidates need strong cloud infrastructure experience, Kubernetes skills, infrastructure-as-code knowledge and direct ownership of build, test and deployment systems.
• A software engineering background and experience measuring developer productivity are required.
• AWS and Terraform are preferred, with alternatives considered.
• Payments or regulated-industry experience and agent tooling are advantages.

Responsibilities

• Develop pipelines, preview environments and deployment approaches such as canary releases or blue-green rollout.
• Build reusable tooling and service conventions that reduce repetitive implementation work.
• Partner with product engineers on frameworks, internal APIs and workflows that make everyday development easier without weakening production reliability.
• Measure delivery performance, identify sources of friction and prioritize changes using evidence.
• Establish useful patterns for AI-assisted engineering and make technical decisions understandable across a distributed team.
• Take operational responsibility for the infrastructure you create, including participation in the core on-call rotation.
• Share technical direction and help less experienced colleagues improve their engineering practices.
