Overview
Build backend systems at the intersection of banking infrastructure and developer-facing software. The engineering remit covers the core services behind payment processing, transaction logic and real-time ledgering. You will work within a small technical team and take ownership of systems where correctness and fault tolerance directly affect the movement of money.
Requirements
- The work suits an engineer with strong backend judgment and an interest in distributed systems, financial infrastructure and clear API design.
- No minimum number of years of experience is specified.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the banking platform's payment services and direct connections to the Federal Reserve and real-time networks.
- Design APIs and data pipelines used by both internal teams and external developers.
- Consider how transaction behavior, integration contracts and system safety fit together when making implementation decisions.
- Improve resilience, scalability and visibility across a distributed architecture.
- Lead changes that span platform capabilities, including authentication, authorization, event streams and change-data capture.
- Evaluate the performance and failure behavior of code that operates close to payment flows, maintaining the engineering discipline required in a regulated environment.
- Own production services with careful attention to correctness and reliability.
Conditions
- This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule in San Francisco, reporting directly to the chief executive.
