Overview
Turn recurring trading-desk tasks into dependable automated workflows. The role combines financial understanding with engineering, focusing on the lifecycle of trades and the quality of information flowing into risk and finance systems. A useful automation needs to do more than generate a plausible answer: it must reconcile against the underlying activity and make exceptions visible. The work includes applying agentic tools to analysis, reporting and monitoring while retaining the controls expected around financial data.
Requirements
- Bring at least three years’ experience in front-office operations, quantitative development or related risk and systems work within financial services.
- Demonstrate strong Python and SQL, knowledge of P&L attribution and market-risk measures, and practical systems-oriented problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Develop Python-based workflows that automate trade operations and reconciliations across relevant asset classes and downstream systems.
- Analyse daily profit and loss, separating market movements, sensitivities and new trading activity to explain material changes.
- Build tools for anomaly detection, reporting and risk monitoring, and investigate inconsistencies between trading, middle-office and finance records.
- Use AI and analytical methods to improve operational throughput, producing outputs that colleagues can validate and use in desk decisions.
Conditions
- The arrangement is full-time hybrid work in London, with additional hours possible during demanding trading periods.
Tech stack
- Python
