Overview
Develop partnerships that bring merchants to a payment platform through trusted advisers and technology providers. The role focuses on agencies, systems integrators, software vendors, financial technology businesses and consultancies, building a productive distribution channel from initial outreach through live merchant activity.
Requirements
- Candidates should bring at least three years in partnerships, business development or strategic sales, with experience in payments or a closely connected software platform.
- Relevant knowledge includes gateways, acquiring, orchestration, fraud services or selling payments to an existing customer base.
- Commercial negotiation and sustained outbound prospecting are important.
Responsibilities
- Identify prospective partners, establish the commercial case for working together, and negotiate referral, reseller or embedded-payment arrangements.
- Understand how each partner influences merchant decisions and what would justify its investment in an integration.
- Agreements need clear commercial, legal and operational terms that can be put into practice.
- After signing, activate the relationship through account mapping, training and coordinated opportunity management.
- Work with partner engineering to bring integrations live and maintain their usefulness as products change.
- Coordinate sales, legal, product and marketing contributions, remove launch obstacles, and track results through processed volume, revenue, conversion and product adoption.
Conditions
- This is a full-time hybrid role in San Francisco, with three days in the office each week.
